Course Objective: The course aims to equip students with the necessary knowledge and skills to become competent electricians capable of self-employment. It focuses on safety, fundamental electrical principles, common electrical accessories, chemical effects of electric current, magnetism, resistance, DC machines, transformers, alternating current, basic electronics, and digital electronics. 1. Occupational Safety & Health:

  • Basic injury prevention
  • Basic first aid
  • Hazard identification and avoidance safety
  • Signs for Danger, Warning, Caution, and personal safety messages

2. Fundamentals of Electricity:

  • Electron theory, fundamental terms, definitions, units, and effects of electric current
  • Resistors: types and properties, Ohm’s Law, series and parallel circuits
  • Kirchhoff’s Laws, Wheatstone bridge principle, and its applications

3. Common Electrical Accessories:

  • Specifications of switches, lamp holders, plugs, and sockets in line with NEC 2011
  • Development of domestic circuits, including switches, alarm systems, and two-way switches
